Visual Thinking and Learning
with Kidspiration® 3:
Engaging Students and Building Organizational,
Writing and Math Skills
Participants will develop the knowledge and ability to apply proven visual learning techniques through the use of Kidspiration® 3 to help students develop critical thinking, organization, outlining, writing and math skills.
Led by an Inspiration® Software certified trainer, participants will explore ways to use visual thinking and learning strategies in their specific education settings, discuss examples for classroom instruction, integrate technology into the curriculum and become proficient Inspiration users. Aligned with Common Core State Standards, Kidspiration will help students develop the required skills necessary for college and career readiness.

Participants will:
- Learn to tap the power of active visual learning to help students better analyze, synthesize and demonstrate their understanding.
- Learn how to optimize visual learning strategies by using Kidspiration, the visual way to explore and understand words, numbers and concepts.
- Explore the best ways to use Kidspiration in specific education settings.

Picture View: Develop, organize and analyze information visually
- Brainstorm and develop ideas
- Classify and organize information
- Connect new information to prior knowledge
Writing View: Structure and expand written work
- Brainstorm and organize thinking using informal outlining techniques
- Outline writing projects as part of the writing process
- Structure ideas and information to create clearly written papers, reports and plans

Math View: Focus on core conceptual foundations of counting, place value, and geometric thinking
- Build number sense and spatial reasoning while communicating thinking with words, numbers and math symbols
- Combine the hands-on learning power of physical manipulatives with the benefits of computer interactivity
- Explore properties of number and operation using Color Tiles to count and compare
- Understand place value and strengthen number sense using Base Ten Blocks
- Compare and order fractions, understand equivalent fractions using Fraction Tiles
- Represent fractions visually to build a strong conceptual foundation for future work with fractions
