Visual Learning Software Recognized as "Best Education Technology Solution for Productivity/Creativity"
PORTLAND, OR — May 1, 2007
Established in 1986, the Codie Awards recognize 72 categories of outstanding products and services. This year's winners were chosen from more than 1,197 nominations — the most in the history of the awards — for the excellence of their products, services, corporate leadership and philanthropy.
"We developed Inspiration 8 based on more than 10 years of feedback from innovative educators who use visual learning to help their students build thinking, writing and comprehension skills across the curriculum," said Mona Westhaver, president and co-founder, Inspiration Software. "It is exciting to have this newest version of Inspiration recognized by the software and information industry."
Launched in February 2006, Inspiration 8 helps students in grades 6-12 develop a deeper understanding of difficult concepts and build stronger critical thinking skills. New and enhanced capabilities — including Inspiration Web Resources — offer students one convenient place to successfully plan, research and complete projects.
"I applaud all the companies selected as winners or finalists in this year's Codie Awards," said Ken Wasch, president, SIIA. "The software and information industry continues to move at a break-neck pace. New technology and business model innovations are constantly emerging and taking root. Being recognized by your peers for getting to and staying at the head of the pack in such a dynamic environment is a major accomplishment, and it is one of the reasons why the Codie Awards hold such a special place in our industry."
The first version of Inspiration developed specifically for education debuted nearly a decade ago and today is used by more than 17 million students worldwide and in more than 60 percent of U.S. school districts. This is Inspiration's fourth Codie Award.
