Inspiration® for RedHalo Introduced at 2007 National Educational Computing Conference

New Version of Inspiration Developed Exclusively for Next-Generation Mobile Learning Platform

ATLANTA — June 25, 2007
Inspiration Software®, the leader in visual thinking and learning, announced today that it has developed Inspiration® for RedHalo exclusively for use with the RedHalo learning platform. Developed in the United Kingdom, RedHalo is the next-generation, device agnostic learning platform for mobile devices that supports the content creation and distribution needs of a mobile learning environment. Now students using Windows Mobile devices and the RedHalo learning platform can use visual learning software to develop a deeper understanding of difficult concepts and build stronger critical thinking skills.

As an increasing number of schools turn to mobile devices as a way to provide "always on" learning for their students, they are often faced with the challenge of limited storage capacity or the loss of the device itself. The RedHalo platform ensures that all data on the mobile device are secure, as they are backed up to a remote or local server where they may be reviewed by a teacher. The teacher may use the same system to distribute content as well as new applications to students.

"Since the launch of the first version of Inspiration for handhelds three years ago, we continue to see a growing amount of interest from schools wanting to extend the power of personal computing and visual learning to their students," said Mona Westhaver, president and co-founder, Inspiration Software. "We are committed to offering high-quality thinking and learning software to all teachers and students and are pleased to partner with RedHalo to include Inspiration, our visual learning software tool, with its learning platform."

Combining the power of visual learning with the ease of handhelds, Inspiration for RedHalo includes many of the popular capabilities of Inspiration, including the RapidFire® tool for quick brainstorming and ready-to-use templates. With Inspiration for RedHalo, students and teachers use the stylus to create graphic organizers by sketching symbols and arranging thoughts directly on the screen. Special zoom options are also included so students and teachers can review and modify details, whether they are viewing the entire graphic organizer or focusing on one section.

"Inspiration is globally recognized as the de facto standard in visual thinking tools, and for good reason. Its cross-platform compatibility means that it is a perfect tool for learners who are often accessing their learning materials from multiple devices, which is what RedHalo is designed to facilitate," said Graham Brown-Martin, interim CEO, RedHalo Systems Ltd.

As a result of this collaboration, this handheld edition of Inspiration will be made available exclusively via the RedHalo distribution system.

Inspiration for RedHalo runs on handheld devices using the RedHalo platform and the Windows Mobile 2005 operating system and is included in a subscription to RedHalo. RedHalo is available on a per-device annual subscription that provides free access to the remote server and management application, online storage and all software and maintenance updates during the year.
