Andrea Sutherland Promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Education Development at Inspiration Software

 
 

 

PORTLAND, Ore. – May 16, 2008
Inspiration Software® today announced the promotion of Andrea Sutherland to vice president of marketing and education development. Formerly director of education development, Sutherland joined the company in October 2006.

An educator with more than 20 years of training, leadership, instructional design and education management experience, Sutherland created the company's education development department and guided its team of education content developers as they designed supplemental content and resources to help educators integrate visual learning into instruction.

"Andrea brings extensive management experience, as well as a deep understanding of the education community and the critical role that visual learning plays in helping students build thinking skills, to her expanded role at Inspiration Software," said Mona Westhaver, president and co-founder, Inspiration Software. "We are excited to have her as part of our leadership team."

Under Sutherland's leadership, Inspiration Software's education development group expanded and enhanced the company's collection of resources designed to help educators successfully integrate its visual learning software tools, Inspiration®, Kidspiration® and InspireData® into the curriculum.

A member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Sutherland previously led instructional design and training departments for LSI Logic, Lam Research and Intel Corporation. In 2007, she served as a member of the State of Oregon's Essential Skills Taskforce, representing employers' needs for technical skills in new employees.

She has a bachelor of science degree in nutritional science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master's of education in educational psychology from California State University, East Bay.
