21st Century Teaching Award winner makes Kidspiration ® a regular part of classroom lessons
For Kristi Barrera, Pre-K teacher at West Side Elementary School in Jacksonville, Texas, and winner of the Jacksonville School District's inaugural 21st Century Teaching Award, technology enables her students to learn important skills and see the world from a new perspective.
This tech-savvy teacher is always ready to try new ways of teaching her students, who are primarily non-native English speakers. After an introduction to Kidspiration last fall she immediately began to implement it with her students.

"Kidspiration provides an effective way to incorporate different subject areas," says Barrera. "It's a great way to pull things together."

Integrating video and sound files in Inspiration 8
Enhance your lessons with the new multimedia capabilities of Inspiration 8! You can now attach and play video and sound--such as QuickTime ® movies and MP3 files--right in your diagrams. For example, during a whole-class discussion comparing a myth or legend to a current movie (a lesson found in the new language arts Curriculum Packet Archetypes in Literature), inserting video clips from the movie would be a great way to get the discussion started.
