Visualise Ideas, Concepts and Relationships

Diagram View helps students visualise ideas and the relationships between them. Outline View makes it easy for students to organise and structure information for writing. The Mind mapping environment lets students follow the natural process of building a mind map to visually represent concepts with branches of associated thoughts. Instantly transform a diagram or mind map into an outline.

By creating diagrams or mind maps, you can:

• Represent thoughts and information with pictures, images, words and multimedia - such as QuickTime® movies and MP3 files.

• Find just the right image from Inspiration's searchable symbols or insert a graphic from Inspiration's online symbol collection, containing more than 1 million illustrations and photographs.

• Show relationships among ideas with the Link tool in Diagram View

• Add new branches to represent ideas with one click. Use the RapidFire tool to quickly add a series of ideas.

• Show connections among branches with the Relationship tool.

• Format and move branches of mind maps as a single unit

• Brainstorm ideas quickly with the RapidFire® tool. Capture thoughts with or without automatic links to symbols.

• Differentiate among ideas and groups with colours, shapes, patterns and fonts.

• Organise ideas effortlessly using the Arrange tool or use AutoArrange to automatically format diagrams as you work.

Students use Inspiration to successfully plan and organise projects, assignments, and more. Available tools and options support a variety of learning styles and help students complete projects, develop thinking skills, and demonstrate knowledge, making Inspiration the visual way to think and learn.

• Start assignments quickly with 65 inspiring templates that offer frameworks for assignments in English, Science, and Humanities and for thinking and planning exercises.

• Enrich projects by adding hyperlinks that connect to other documents, including web sites, Inspiration documents and files created in other programs. This provides students with a simple way to gather research and keep their work and materials together.

• Use multimedia to create more engaging and informed projects. Students insert and play video and sound, such as QuickTime® movies and MP3 files, right in Inspiration. Students can also record their own audio and attach it to a symbol or topic.

• Plan projects and track ideas using the Checklist feature.

• Export Inspiration diagrams, mind maps and outlines to continue working on projects in word processing documents, PowerPoint^® slides and graphics files.

• Use the Site Skeleton export to seamlessly convert outlines and diagrams to HTML and incorporate your mind map or diagram's symbols, video and sound into web pages. Each symbol becomes a separate web page, complete with appropriate hyperlinks. Inspiration also creates a site map.

• Template Wizard – Create customised visual learning activities! The Template Wizard gives educators step-by-step help for designing templates to support any curriculum area. Custom libraries may also be created and saved with templates for sharing with other computers. Educators can also limit the symbol library for targeted study.

• Flexible template access – Use and share templates with ease! Templates can be stored and launched from any location, making them readily available for students and teachers.
