Kidspiration Wins Two Association of Educational Publishers 2005 Distinguished Achievement Awards

Visual Learning Software Recognized as Most Innovative and Best Reading Software for Elementary Students

PORTLAND, OR — June 15, 2005

Inspiration Software's® Kidspiration® 2 received two 2005 Distinguished Achievement Awards from the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). At the association's annual conference last week in Washington, D.C., the visual learning software for grades K-5 was recognized as the most innovative educational software and as the best educational software for reading. These honors join the 2005 Codie Award for Best Elementary Education Instructional Solution: Language Arts/Reading award Kidspiration received from the Software & Information Industry Association in May 2005.

Launched in 2001, Kidspiration today is used by more than three million elementary students worldwide to express themselves visually and recognize the connections between words and meanings. Inspiration®, Kidspiration's companion product for grade six through adult, received an AEP Distinguished Achievement Award in 2003.

"We are proud of the innovative ways elementary teachers are using Kidspiration to help students build early literacy skills and understand new concepts," said Mona Westhaver, president and co-founder, Inspiration Software. "As a company, we are devoted to developing products for students and teachers, so it is particularly exciting when our products are recognized by leaders in the education publishing industry."

For 37 years, the Distinguished Achievement Awards have honored the diversity and quality of supplemental publishing products made for the home and school. In 2004, the categories were expanded to reflect the growth of electronic publishing and the expanding educational publishing industry.

All products submitted undergo a rigorous two-tier judging process by individuals who are experts in their respective areas. Products selected by the initial screening judges go to final judging, where a certification panel of judges review and certify all winners and finalists.
