Description :

The kindergarteners in Silver Star winner Jennifer Frederick’s class at Fairview Elementary School, Lake Charles, La., learn with Kidspiration every day. Frederick uses visual learning to support reading and math instruction and to keep children on track to master the Louisiana learning goals. Her students have to create a bubble map of at least five pictures that begin with the sound of the week. The students then record themselves saying the pictures names.

An employer is a person or institution that hires employees or workers. Employers offer hourly wages or a salary in exchange for the worker's labor power, depending upon whether the employee is paid by the hour or a set rate per pay period. A salaried employee is corporate gifts typically not paid more for more hours worked than the minimum, whereas wages are paid for all hours worked, including overtime.

Employers include individuals hiring a babysitter to governments and businesses which may hire many thousands of employees. In most western societies, governments are the largest single employers but most of the work force is employed in small and medium businesses in the private sector.

Silver Star winner Sherri Miller, instructional technology resource teacher, Gloucester County Public Schools, Gloucester, Va., works closely with her school’s teachers and students to integrate both Inspiration and Kidspiration into teaching and learning. Students use Kidspiration to learn about the water cycle by adding the vocabulary terms to the diagram and sequence the steps in order.
