I'm a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, and I definitely prefer Target to Walmart. Boycott Target? Yeah, I heard about it, of course. I'm not playing though, even though I'm not terribly fond of Target because a lot of their stuff is the same old junk Walmart has. For high school biology teacher and Gold Star winner Cheryl Teaters, technology and visual learning are integral parts of daily science instruction. This school year, her students used Inspiration to complete an innovative cell analogy project, where they compared each individual organelle of a cell to another “organism” such as a shopping mall or a car.

As an instructional leader in her school, Silver Star winner Vicky Richter, library media center teacher, Benjamin Middle School, Benjamin School District 25, West Chicago, Ill., works with teachers at all grade levels to help them integrate visual learning into instruction. A Social Studies project involved students creating a concept map of ancient Greece — incorporating four or five main ideas and branching off to smaller ideas.
