As a middle school science teacher, I struggled with getting students to actively examine and analyze their own work, and their own experiments. Most of my struggle was coming up with a system that organizationally made sense, was easy to use and kept students focused on the parts of the overall task. Inspiration takes the struggle out of that process by providing the tool and many useful templates to help show students how easy it can be.
Inspiration is a visual learning tool used to create graphic organizers that help students: brainstorm, build knowledge, increase comprehension, organize writing and plan projects. The research around visual thinking methods is very exciting! Research shows that students who begin projects with concept and idea mapping show higher achievement overall.
Join me on January 29th, 12:00-12:45 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, for the Webcast, “Using Visual Learning Techniques to Improve Academic Performance With Inspiration.” I will show teachers how to use Inspiration 8 to improve student performance in science, language arts and social studies. In the 45-minute complimentary webcast, I will demonstrate how students can:
-Expand on ideas to create well-supported thinking and conclusions
-Build knowledge by increasing comprehension of new concepts
-Increase organizational skills by connecting ideas into a logical hierarchy
