After reading the book or watching the film of Martin's Big Words, discuss the words in the picture. This can also be done as a class presentation. Have each student use each word in a sentence or write the meaning in the writing mode. I had students delete all but four of the big words. They then went to the writing mode in Kidspiration and put the words in order for a paragraph. They wrote details sentences using each word and wrote a topic sentence too. Finally we published the writing for a completed project. As an extension to this activity have students complete the My Big Words Template.
