First graders completed this activity after a field trip to the zoo. There are multiple choices for some of the letters so each child's zoo will b a little different. Have student go into the writing mode and write sentences about their animals. These sentences can be simple or more complex based on the student's ability level.

You might also try reading Dr. Seuss', If I Ran The Zoo, before completing this activity. You could then have students change the color of the animals wth the fill color choices for some stranger animals. Use the Critters library for some even wilder animals. Students could also draw their own animals with the Draw Symbol tool. Be creative and have fun. Your students sure will.
