In this activity, students will use Kidspiration Pattern Blocks to build mixed numbers. Starting with a shape that stands for one whole, they will use the pattern blocks to create a design that represents a given mixed number. The activity can be made more challenging by having students find multiple representations of the same mixed number. Six pages of pattern block problems are included in this activity.
