Description :

This activity is based on “The Typical American President” from Scholastics Problem Solving and Logic: Great Skill-Building Activities, Games, and Reproducibles. The organizer will be used to introduce the project, organize research, and present the group findings.
1. Classes will be divided into teams of two.
2. Each team will draw the names of two American presidents whom they will research, compare and contrast.
3. Data will be collected through research using Almanacs, Encyclopedias, Biographies, History Books, and the Internet.
4. Collected data will be posted in the "Typical American President" organizer for presentation.
5. Data will be analyzed in manners such as finding the average, central tendency - mean, median, or mode, etc. using Excel spreadsheets.
6. The class will summarize the group findings and determine who comes closer to the statistically typical American president, George Washington or the current occupant of the White House.
