This Inspiration template helps students analyze current and historical political cartoons. Questions are listed in three levels to make them more manageable and encourage higher order thinking. In addition to the countless historical cartoons available online at sites like American Memory at the Library of Congress and the National Archives, analyzing current political cartoons can also make for a great activity, and international cartoons can provide students with multiple perspectives and/or enrichment in the foreign language classroom.
In addition to a student template and exemplar, a document with links to primary resources available online is also included; please note that Inspiration files like this one can also be exported as web pages. Please also see the Primary Document and Photograph Analysis Organizers posted separately and I hope you and your students enjoy these priceless resources!
