Visual Learning Integration Made Easier

Educators are buzzing across social networks about the need to teach more reading, writing and thinking skills throughout the curriculum. Yet, this can be a daunting task when teachers need to primarily teach subject matter. Where do you find the time to create lessons and activities that further skill development and teach learning strategies as well as subject matter?

We have received lots of requests from readers to cover more in-depth ways to implement visual thinking and learning strategies and tools in the classroom. So, to help address this need we are introducing a couple of new resources to provide tips and how-to materials that we hope will inspire you to integrate reading, writing and thinking tools into your lessons.

Quick Lesson Ideas
Beginning this month, I’m excited to introduce our Quick Lesson Ideas. Each month, we’ll be giving you a brief idea on how you might incorporate visual thinking tools into the lessons you already have on your schedule. These posts will include step-by-step guides, tips and creative uses for  visual thinking.

Featured Inspired Sites
We will also be sharing inspiring sites and ideas created by other educators that have inspired us. We hope these ideas will also stimulate your thinking and make it easier for you to teach reading, writing and thinking skills as part of your subject matter.

So, check back each week to learn a little something new from our Quick Lesson Ideas and our Inspired Sites! I encourage you to ask questions and suggest your ideas. You may find me on Twitter at @SarahAtInspSW or email at connect(at)inspiration.com.

I’m looking forward to sharing ideas with you.
