Kick off the school year by reading a new book, developing literacy, celebrating world peace and welcoming autumn this September. 9/1 Read-A-New-Book Month and Better Breakfast Month
- Celebrate Read-A-New-Book Month with a lesson in Inspiration on questions to ask before, during and after reading.
- Start your students off to a healthy beginning by celebrating Better Breakfast Month with an InspireData survey on sleep and breakfast.
9/3 Skyscraper Day
- Teach your students mathematical problems with a tower-building story problem on September 3rd in honor of Skyscraper Day.
9/6 Read-A-Book Day
- September 6th is Read-A-Book Day, which makes it a great time to teach your students the difference between fiction and non-fiction using Kidspiration.
- Encourage students to tell family and friends about new books to read on Read-A-Book Day September 6th with a lesson in Kidspiration.
9/8 Literacy Day
- Develop student media literacy on International Literacy Day September 8th with an Inspiration lesson.
9/9 Teddy Bear Day
- Enjoy Teddy Bear Day September 9th with a comparing sizes lesson in Kidspiration based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
9/10 Swap Ideas Day
- Teach a unit on investigation in Inspiration for Swap Ideas Day September 10th.
9/16 Mayflower Day and Collect Rocks Day
- Prepare for Thanksgiving by teaching vocabulary words in Kidspiration on Mayflower Day September 16th.
- Help your students understand different types of rocks in Inspiration on Collect Rocks Day September 16th.
9/17 Constitution Day
- Introduce the U.S. Constitution to your students in Inspiration on Constitution Day September 17th.

9/20 National Flower Week
- Learn the parts of a plant in Kidspiration in honor of National Flower Week the 3rd week in September.
9/21 World Peace Day
- Teach the words of Zedong, Castro and Gandhi using Inspiration on World Peace Day September 21st.
- Test your students on what they learned about Gandhi with a quiz in Inspiration on World Peace Day September 21st.
9/22 First Day of Autumn
- Welcome the First Day of Autumn September 22nd with a scarecrow activity, a five little pumpkins diagram and an autumn poem in Kidspiration.
- Create a vacation postcard in Kidspiration September 22nd in honor of the opening of the first U.S. Post Office.
9/24 Native American Day and National Punctuation Day
